Add your items — with photos, descriptions, and prices
Upload multiple pictures for each item, write a short description, and set your price. You can even mark an item “open to offers” if you'd like — but you don't have to.

Set your dates and times, then go live
Add each day your sale is open and its hours — list as many days as you like, and they can have different times. When you're ready, make your sale active and it appears on the map for shoppers to find.

Share it anywhere
Want to share it on Facebook, Instagram, or by text? No problem — use the Share Link feature and paste it anywhere you want it seen. Your sale's main image appears automatically and links straight to your sale when someone clicks it.
Want to sell your items online too? (optional)
Selling in person is always free with your listing. If you'd also like shoppers to be able to buy an item online and reserve it before they arrive, you can turn that on. Here's how it works:

Flip on “Sell online” for any item
You choose which items are buyable online — the rest simply stay “visible on premises” for shoppers to come see in person.

Connect your bank securely through Stripe
We use Stripe, a trusted payment processor, to handle card payments and pay you. Connecting takes just a couple of minutes, and your banking details are held by Stripe — never by us.

Shoppers buy online and arrange local pickup
Buyers see a Buy Online button, pay securely by card, and then arrange to pick the item up from you locally. There's no shipping — you hand the item over in person, just like a normal garage sale.

You get paid, automatically
Buyers pay the price you set, and your earnings are deposited to your bank through Stripe. A small platform fee and the standard card-processing fee come out of each online sale — you keep the rest.
What does selling online cost?
No surprises. Selling in person is always free — you only pay when an item actually sells online. The buyer pays your listed price (we never add a surcharge on top of it), and two fees come out of your proceeds:
- Platform fee — 10% of the item's price. This is our only cut of an online sale, and it supports running the site.
- Card processing — 2.9% + $0.30 per sale. This is Stripe's standard rate for securely handling the payment and depositing it to your bank — not a fee we set or keep.
So on any online sale you receive your price minus those two fees. For example:

That's the whole story — there are no other fees, no monthly charges, and nothing at all to pay for the items you sell in person. If a buyer is refunded, they're made whole and you're charged only the card processing fee plus 50% of the platform fee — the rest of the platform fee is returned to you — so a cancelled sale never leaves you out of pocket beyond those costs.
Your privacy is protected. Buyers verify their email address before they can purchase, and you can message them through yardgaragesale.com to coordinate pickup — your real email address is never shown to the buyer.
